I have been updating my shop on Folksy this past weekend, adding a few new items.
I have recently had some tea towels printed using some of my designs and photographs, and hope to add aprons and cushions to this range too.
At the beginning of February this year I opened a unit at Molly's Den in West Bay to sell my images as cards, mounted prints and canvases.
Heres hoping the summer season will be busy with lots of sales, especially as Broadchurch will be filming here again.
Last November I moved to Bridport, Dorset - and this has turned out to be one of my better decisions! I love being here.
I am passionate about the sea and coast and also trees and woods. I have it all here and very close at hand too. I can be at West Bay in less than 5 minutes and my other favourite beach (photo above) is Burton Bradstock which is within 10 minutes. I have found some pretty magical woodland too and everywhere I look I can see hills and trees, then look the other way and there is the sea. All very special.
Very excited this week to see the image I was commissioned to take by the Bristol Hippodrome, presented to Christiaan de Villiers their General Manager, at his leaving do.
A member of staff from the Hippodrome was inspired by my circular image of Portishead Marina in The Blue Room Gallery in Nailsea, and suggested something similar as a gift for their departing GM. I was just told it needed to be of Bristol Harbourside, but that was all. I spent a very enjoyable morning walking from the Cumberland Basin to the M Shed, managing to get enough images to work with before the heavens opened and it rained for the rest of the day.
I am extremely pleased to have been asked to do this and hope Christiaan enjoys it.
Festival started today until 5th October and hopefully you will all be able to visit some of the participating venues.
This is my exhibit which can be seen (and purchased) at The Blue Room, Nailsea. http://www.theblue-room.co.uk
The 'Made in North Somerset Festival' opens it's doors on Saturday 13th September and runs for three weeks until 5th October. and is a celebration of food, drink, art and craft across this area. The Festival acts as a showcase for the rich variety of talent across North Somerset and helps to raise the profile of local producers and makers.
My work is currently exhibited and for sale at The Blue Room in Nailsea, http://www.theblue-room.co.uk and each exhibitor has been asked to produce one special piece for this festival which was pretty exciting. Once the festival has started I will be posting my exhibit here for all to see.
Just setting up my new website and I have to confess I do hate reading instructions and learning how to use new things - whether it be a new camera, PC or even how to do this! Plus point is that I am learning new skills all the time - I just have to keep telling myself that.
Please check back another day to see more of my ramblings.
